About HDPS - Where it all began

HDPS is a well-established Canterbury owned and operated company with its origins dating back to 1997. Andrew Bulman started what was called AB Mechanical Services in 1997 working out of the back of his ute with his dog Bogart. After a period of time, AB Mechanical Services utilised and worked out of a Workshop in Bromley before building and occupying a custom-built workshop in Hillsborough.

A name change to All-Rig Parts & Services along with being awarded Southpac Dealer status in 2004 progressed both the HDPS and Southpac brands to the fore in the Canterbury Area. All-Rig Parts and Services Timaru was also formed in 2004 as a support for the large number of vehicles in the area.

In 2007 a branch was formed in Dunsandel as a satellite workshop to support the growing fleet of Milk Tankers at the Synlait Dairy operation.

The business had a name change in 2007 To Heavy Diesel Parts and Services.

In 2009 HDPS purchased the Cummins Engine Company in Christchurch. This resulted in both HDPS Christchurch and Timaru becoming Cummins Master Dealers in the respective regions which remains today.

For more than 25 years the friendly staff at HDPS have been servicing new and used Kenworth & DAF vehicles in Canterbury and the surrounding regions. Our friendly staff are specialists in quality brands like Kenworth, DAF, Ditchwitch, Swinglift, Cummins, and Caltex lubricants and believe in the products we sell and support

We are a multi award winning Kenworth & DAF Dealer of the Year. Our awards are based on recognition for excellence in sales, parts, service and customer satisfaction.
We have well equipped, modern workshops working on the very latest products with ongoing training to ensure our technical staff are well versed in the latest equipment and Diagnostic tooling.
We have multiple staff in Field Service roles and a significant portion of our work is “off-site” so we can come to you if required.
We have 24/7 on call technicians who are available when required should a breakdown occur.
